Hey Harry, you’re 3 months old

On August 27, 2017 by Lau

I’m writing this post as Harry is fast asleep on me with his arms sprawled out – his favourite way to sleep. I love these moments when all he wants is the comfort of his Mama.

3 months old – 15lb 11oz – 61cm

At 3 months old Harry is getting so big, he’s definitely taking after his Daddy! I’m already onto the 4th set of my favourite Next sleepsuits for him, he’s got such long legs. His hair is now coming in blonde, those gorgeous eyes are getting more and more blue every day and he has the cutest, chubbiest cheeks I’ve ever seen.

The first few months have been a rollercoaster, starting with an emergency section and discovering Harry has a cows milk protein intolerance (any Mama’s out there trust your instinct and pester those doctors to listen if you have to!). But there has been so so many more up’s, first times, and settling into our little family…

A lot of firsts: the first few months of a baby’s life is full of firsts and each one fills me with so much happiness. His first real smile at me (and Mr Fox), his first laugh at his Daddy while splashing around in the bath, and just last week his first giggles at me while I was singing and dancing to him.

Bath time: it’s his favourite. He’s never cried once in the bath! He’s now figured out how to stretch his legs and push himself up so I think it’s time to upgrade to the big bath!

Swimming: last week we took Harry swimming for the first time and he absolutely loved it! He giggled and smiled the whole time. We’ve booked into a swimming class which starts next month and I can’t wait!

Best buds in the making: our dog Willow has been brilliant with Harry so far, and although it’s taken her a while to get used to her new baby brother she’s definitely warming to him! She’s sat under my legs during feeding so that Harry’s foot strokes her head, and has given him the gentlest little lick on the hand when he’s in his bouncer. Just wait until Harry’s onto food Willow, you’re going to love him!

Family time: whether it’s the three of us lying in bed together on a Saturday morning (eating cookies at 7am-yes, that was me, don’t judge), going out for breakfast, or walks at Jesmond Dene and the lake near our house, family time is my favourite.

Favourite toys: Harry’s moved on from Mr Fox and has really taken to my childhood teddy Nor. He chats away to him non stop. He also likes his new elephant Ollie when he goes to sleep in his pram, and in the house he likes to lie on his play mat (mostly looking at himself in the mirror!).

As the weeks pass we get to know every thing about him – every little cry, smile and giggle, whether he’s hungry, tired or simply wants me to pick him up so he can look out of the window. He’s really starting to get his own personality now and I can’t believe how much Harry has changed in these first few months… I can’t wait to see what the next three months bring!
