The Lady Boys of Bangkok

On September 13, 2013 by Lau

On Monday night I was lucky enough to be invited along to The Lady Boys of Bangkok in Newcastle (in their purpose built Sabai Pavilion in Times Square) as part of their Glamorous Amorous tour. It’s no wonder the tour has a four week stop in Newcastle as it was quite simply a brilliant night.

As the tour name suggests, the show is full of glamour and the Lady Boys certainly show us the amorous side. With glitzy costumes (think sequined bikinis and feather skirts) and a whole lot of comedy you can’t help but to smile all the way through. The show lasts around 1 hour and 50 minutes and its full of cabaret with hits from Girls Aloud, Saturday Night Fever and Pitbull and Ne-yo! You’ll even see a little bit of Mary Poppins and Santa thrown in there too. I won’t give too much more away just in case anyone reading this has tickets to see the show, but here are a few pictures to show what The Lady Boys of Bangkok are all about.

As you can see the Glamorous Amorous tour has quite a variety of performances, and they always get the audience involved (males – be warned!). Aside from all the glitz and glam, The Lady Boys of Bangkok are also raising money for a great cause – Pattaya Street Kids Support Project which helps children from the slums of Pattaya.

If you’d like to get tickets for The Lady Boys of Bangkok, you can buy them here.
