Wonderful Wednesday #7

I almost didnt join in with this weeks Wonderful Wednesday, I didn’t feel as though I had done anything that exciting since last week but then that’s usually what these mid-week posts are about aren’t they? Finding little pieces of happy in what can seem like a mundane week! So let’s get straight into it…

1. Hot water bottles. Yes I’m that person, I feel the cold as soon as we officially hit Autumn. I bought a cable knit hot water bottle and it has seriously been the best £5 I have spent. I forget how good they are, curled up on the sofa with a throw and a good film.

2. Dark nights and candles. I can’t believe how dark it gets already by 7pm, Summer seems like it was months ago! But I do love the darker nights when you can light all of the candles. And I do mean ALL of them.

3. Willow. I bought Willow a new bed earlier in the week, the jury’s still out on whether she’s pleased with her replacement or if she would rather have the old one back that only has half the stuffing left. She spent a good part of the night sniffing it, and the other part burying her head under the blanket and turning it upside down every few minutes.

4. That feeling when things fall in to place. So a little bit more real-life than hot water bottles and candles, but don’t you just love that feeling when you realise things are falling in to place and everything seems better again? After a bit of a roller coaster year so far it’s nice to see things getting back to normal and feeling relaxed instead of stressed and anxious. I’m trying to hang on to this feeling as long as I can, we too often forget to just try to enjoy the now don’t we?

So that’s all for my Wonderful Wednesday this week, tell me the best parts of your week!

  • I’m glad things feel like they’re coming good for you, that’s an awesome feeling and a brilliant thing to hear!
And do tell, where did you get a hot water bottle for a fiver? I’m not obsessed I swear but I wanted to put a couple into my shed for the wintry months :o)
We have to do the new bed dance next month too, it always takes Pete ages to roll about and put his stink on it (Betty just wants to curl up and go to sleep!)
Have a super rest of the week, I too have been lighting all the candles and generally feeling all autumnal.

Thanks Michelle 🙂 It’s from B&M, best £5 I’ve ever spent! They have all sorts of colours, all cable knit with a big wooden button on the front. Oh good luck with the new bed for Pete next week, Willow’s still pulling the blanket out of hers in protest! xx

  • You know, I don’t remember the last time I used a hot water bottle, I’m not even sure if I’ve ever owned one… except maybe as a child, but even then the memories are few and far between!

I hope Willow warms up to her new blanket soon! I’m sure she will when it gets a little colder and she wants to cosy down!

    Happy Thursday!

I was the same until this week, I had one when I was little but can’t remember the last time I used one but now I’m wondering why I haven’t before now! She’s slowly coming round, she’s stopped flicking it upside down and is just dragging the blanket out of instead! xx

  • I busted out my hot bottle this week and it was SO good so can totally relate! xx

It’s the best isn’t it! I’m starting to get a little too attached to it now though but I don’t think it’s appropriate to take one to work! xx

  • I love a hot water bottle, they are definitely one of the best things about winter, especially popping one in bed by my feet to warm them up! Love a good wheat bag too!

    • Lau

Yes that’s the best taking it to bed for your feet! I’m glad I’m not the only one who loves a good water bottle now haha! xx

I think hot water bottles and candles are my soul mates, they bring the cosy! I ALMOST got my hot water bottle out yesterday much to the husband’s dismay but then found some fluffy socks did the trick.

Sounds like a fab week even if you felt not a lot happened, sometimes that in itself is a good thing! xx

There’s nothing better to make a cosy night that a hot water bottle and candles! I can’t wait to get the Christmas scented candles out! xx
